Job Responsibilities:
- The primary responsibilities will be to work with the crews while overseeing, scheduling and directing all facets of a specific or multiple paving and road construction project(s).
- Responsible for profit and loss on all assigned projects.
- Must establish and maintain communications and a working relationship with subcontractors, owners and government officials.
- Know at any given time the status and cost of the various operations on your projects(s).
- Supervise and approve the paperwork flow (i.e. timesheets, daily reports, tickets, etc.).
- Assist in any way possible within your capacity to progress the work on the project (s).
- Maintain communication with the shop concerning equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Establish a long-term plan for each project to allow taking advantage of equipment availability and to mesh with other ongoing projects company wide.
- Maintain a constant up to date balance on all quantities for your projects.
Education/Experience:
- College Degree is Required and 3+ Years of Experience in Road Construction
- Prior Road Construction and Paving Experience is Essential
- Prior Supervisory Experience is Preferred
- Extensive Knowledge of and Experience in Road Construction
- Good Communication Skills and the Ability to Motivate Personnel with the Desire to Achieve the Results Expected
- Willingness To Work Long Hours and Drive Many Miles in Traveling from Project to Project
- The Ideal Candidate Will Have a Strong Understanding of Grades/Drainage, Strong Math Skills and Have The Ability To Work Effectively in a High Pressure, Multi-Tasking Environment
- The Selected Candidate Must Take Pride in a Job Well Done, Be Able to Manage Administrative Duties in a Timely Manner and Be Able to Work Independently
- Long Hours, Night Work, Travel/Overnights and/or Weekend Work May Be Required
- The Selected Individual Must Display a Courteous and Professional Attitude When Dealing with Co-Workers and the Public
- A Valid Driver’s License and the Willingness to Travel within the Geographic Region Are Essential for This Position
