Overview:
Demolition & abatement company is in immediate need for an Estimator. Great opportunity for advancement for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Daily review of advertisement for potential projects for bidding
- Arrange and procure the Plans/Specs for the shortlisted projects
- Monitor and maintain plan holders list for each project
- Keep an updated Bidding Schedule by adding and moving projects accordingly
- Maintain an updated pre-bid job walk calendar and keep the Management updated with any changes
- Take photos during job walk and store them under appropriate bidding/project folder
- Set up Estimates including a summary sheet with basic project parameters including Owner, Engineer, engineers estimate, bid date, brief project Scope of work including basic areas, quantities, etc., project duration, incentive/disincentives, bond requirements, basic material/sub buyouts, and any other important milestones/information
- Prepare a separate buyout sheet for each project including basic quantities of material and subcontract services required
- Hand over the said spreadsheet/spreadsheets to purchasing in a timely manner
- Work with purchasing and update quantities as required
- Be the contact person with agencies soliciting bids, track and acknowledge addendums
- Submit any and all RFIs to the owner, track and acknowledge response
- Request and procure Bid Bonds
- Complete bid package at least 3 days prior to bid date
- Review bid with Management at least 4 days prior to bid date
- Verify completeness of each bid package by checking each and every line item of the check list provided by the owner
- Make a checklist in case one is not provided by the owner
- Monitor and record bid results for each project
- Send bid results to the bonding company no later the following business day
Requirements:
- 7+ Years of Estimating Civil / Demolition / Abatement Projects
- 7+ Years of Demolition Industry Experience
