Overview:
Frac Sand Company is seeking a Project Manager responsible for providing engineering support to new and existing operations and focusing on process improvement as well as project management.
Responsibilities:
- Perform activities to improve the reliability and efficiency of operations
- Coordinate and supervise project implementation, control project costs, monitor progress and quality of the projects
- Analyze existing methods and recommend modifications necessary to improve and streamline current processes
- Selecting, managing and working with sub-contractors
- Technical responsibility for planning, organizing and coordinating test procedures on current and future design components and units
- Approve related technical specifications on drawings and literature
- Coordinate the transfer of all technical information and graphics to other departments and to outside sources
- Carry out independent technical investigations involving a variety of engineering principles
- Coordinate activities with customers and/or vendors as required to resolve quality and functional issues
- Provide management review and control of all mechanical engineering work including project development, staff assignment and the application of engineering principles throughout the company
- Coordinate planning, organization, budgeting, program timing and specifications of all engineering projects and assures timely and high-quality delivery
- Review project results and interpret technical trends
- Supervise new construction and manage external contractors
- Assist in operational management when needed or market change demands, including direct supervision responsibilities
- Work closely with Plant Manager and safety in order to stay in compliance with environmental and MSHA rules and regulations
- Some travel is required to other plant locations in the United States
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, Major in Engineering or related field, preferred
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, mining, or aggregate environment preferred
- Project management experience with a proven record of managing multiple projects at the same time
- Demonstrated ability to use process and QC data to optimize process parameters
- Strong sense of responsibility; understanding of business implications of decisions
- Strong project management skills; highly organized and capable of effective, efficient multi-tasking and time management
- Flexibility to work effectively in a changing environment
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills and must be able to effectively present information to others
- Ability to think strategically and creatively in generating solutions
- Exercises good judgment and discretion in determining best method and procedure to be followed
- Ability to rapidly process and comprehend large amounts of detailed information and to consider the implications and consequences of new facts and make decisions
- Proficient computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
