Overview:
Heavy Construction Contractor is seeking a Sr. Paving Specialist to be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day activities of asphalt paving projects, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with General Superintendent to ensure project requirements are met.
- Provide coaching, training and development opportunities for Asphalt Foremen and crew members.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure all work is performed to the highest standards and complies with project specifications and quality requirements.
- Inspect completed work and manage any required corrective actions.
- Monitor and ensure quality paving practices.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily reports, timecards and material usage.
- Provide regular updates to management on project status, including any issues or delays.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure all crew members adhere to safety protocols.
- Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 7 years of direct experience in asphalt paving is required.
- Proven track record of successfully coaching, teaching, and training of asphalt foremen and crews.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
