Overview:
The Non-Ferrous Operations Manager will oversee the full spectrum of our non-ferrous metals division, combining operational management with sales and pricing strategy responsibilities. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in non-ferrous metals, capable of driving both operational efficiency and profitable sales. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the daily processing operations, developing and executing sales strategies, and setting competitive material pricing to maximize profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Lead and manage all daily operations of the non-ferrous metals division, including the receipt, processing, and shipment of materials.
- Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies to expand market share and drive revenue growth for non-ferrous metals. Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, negotiate contracts, and close sales deals.
- Material Pricing: Analyze market trends, supply and demand dynamics, and competitor pricing to set competitive and profitable prices for non-ferrous materials. Regularly review and adjust pricing strategies to align with market conditions.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and optimize processing techniques to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase material recovery rates.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all non-ferrous materials meet quality standards before shipment. Oversee the inspection and testing of materials to maintain consistency and compliance with customer specifications.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and develop a team of operations staff, including production workers and sales personnel. Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Monitor inventory levels of non-ferrous materials, ensuring adequate stock to meet production and sales demands. Coordinate with suppliers to secure a steady supply of high-quality materials.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers. Provide excellent customer service, address inquiries and concerns, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact non-ferrous metals operations and sales. Use this knowledge to guide strategic decisions.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all operations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, particularly concerning environmental and safety standards. Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Budget and Financial Management: Develop and manage the budget for the non-ferrous division, including operational costs, sales targets, and pricing strategies. Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Reporting and Analytics: Generate regular reports on operational efficiency, sales performance, inventory levels, and pricing effectiveness. Use data to drive decision-making and strategic planning.
Requirements:
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in non-ferrous metals operations, sales, and material pricing, with a proven track record of driving operational efficiency and sales growth.
- Sales and Pricing Expertise: Strong background in sales and pricing within the non-ferrous metals industry, with the ability to analyze market trends and set competitive prices.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, with a focus on achieving operational excellence and sales targets.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in pricing strategy, market analysis, and process optimization.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, suppliers, and team members at all levels.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in inventory management software, ERP systems, and other relevant tools.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Material Science, or a related field preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials, working in varying temperatures, and standing for extended periods.
