Overview:
The Regional Director of Operations oversees a team of managers to ensure the business operates profitably and sustainably while prioritizing safety and community respect.
Responsibilities:
- Foster a culture of safety across the region, continuously enhancing employee health and safety.
- Represent the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility, collaborating with environmental teams to implement long-term improvements.
- Share responsibility for the region’s profit and loss with the Regional Marketing Manager, developing budgets and assessing performance with facility managers.
- Partner with the Regional Marketing Manager to expand market share and strengthen the company’s presence, identifying growth opportunities at both regional and facility levels.
- Drive annual productivity enhancements to reduce operating costs and support facility managers in making local improvements.
- Lead business development efforts, aiding in the assessment and integration of acquisitions.
- Manage the region’s workforce, focusing on succession planning and talent development for key positions.
- Mentor emerging leaders and address underperformance within the organization.
- Ensure accurate inventory and financial reporting at facilities, implementing controls to mitigate losses and fraud while overseeing adherence to documented policies and procedures.
- Engage with local and state legislation to maintain the company’s positive community and industry reputation.
- Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations in operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in regional management
- 7+ years of experience managing multiple facilities in the Metals Recycling Industry
- Direct shredder management experience preferred
- Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region
- Hands-on leadership approach
