Overview:
Ready Mix Company is seeking a Operations Manager to ensure a strong emphasis on safe and professional operations management.
Responsibilities:
Health and Safety:
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Pursue a culture of safety that is best in class.
- Ensure that equipment and processes meet or exceed the OSHA and Company guidelines.
- Actively engage with the workforce to reinforce safe behaviors and to promote positive preventative measures to ensure the health and safety of employees.
- Obey all safety guidelines when on construction sites and operations.
Environment:
- Establish the environment as a priority in operations management and act as a steward to the environment.
- Reinforce the need to meet or exceed environmental compliance among personnel.
Operations Strategy:
- Identify operational deficiencies and areas of opportunity based on systematic processes.
- Optimize fixed and mobile equipment utilization, driver and plant personnel and ensure customer satisfaction through excellence in production, and delivery quality and efficiency.
Operations Planning & Execution:
- Focus on producing concrete of the highest quality and delivery of the concrete per the schedule committed.
Operations Analysis and Action Tracking:
- Ensure that key operational data are reviewed and analyzed monthly.
- Track progress against action plans and targets.
- Investigate variances and ensure corrective actions are established and managed.
HR/Coaching & Mentoring:
- Select, hire, train, and terminate employees as required.
- Conduct annual and interim interviews with employees.
- Work closely with plant management to develop a professional approach to operations management.
- Communicate company initiatives and pursue best practices.
- Identify underperformance and establish corrective plans accordingly.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business
- 5 Years experience in Operations and/or Logistics
- Experience in managing multiple sites
- Must have a strategic business focus and ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately
- Proficient with Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
