Overview:
The ideal candidate will provide technical support for the facility’s automated laser welding systems by analyzing issues, troubleshooting faults, recommending solutions, and overseeing repairs and enhancements to all electro-mechanical equipment in alignment with the company’s business objectives.
The Basics:
- At least 5 years of experience working with laser welders in an industrial environment (solid-state laser welders preferred)
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, technical drawings, and fine-tolerance requirements
- Proficiency or willingness to learn PLC programming platforms, as well as power distribution systems, motors, drives, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols
- Proficiency or willingness to learn hydraulic systems, mechanical drive systems, and machine alignment techniques
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of industrial solid-state laser welding systems and optics (Miebach preferred)
The Extras:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Understanding of process automation applications
- Knowledge of hydraulics, power transmission components, and complex machine alignment practices
- Experience with SAP or other CMMS platforms
- Experience using IBA or similar process-trending software
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Familiarity with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies
