Overview:
A growing metals recycling company seeks a Yard Manager to oversee all operations, materials processing, and team performance. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving efficiency, ensuring safety and quality standards, and supporting a high-performing work culture.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop yard staff; foster a culture of accountability, safety, and service
- Oversee metals grading, quality control, and accurate inventory management
- Train team members on processing methods, equipment use, and operational standards
- Improve material flow and efficiency across all yard activities
- Manage staffing levels and oversee timekeeping and payroll approvals
- Maintain a secure, clean, and organized facility; ensure equipment upkeep and compliance
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of metals recycling operations leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of metals grading, inventory, and processing
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to safety, service, and operational excellence
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Heavy equipment operation experience
