We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to lead electrical maintenance operations within a heavy industrial steel manufacturing environment in Pennsylvania. This role is responsible for overseeing electrical maintenance activities, supporting plant reliability initiatives, and leading union maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production operations.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in steel manufacturing or similarly heavy industrial operations, with hands-on expertise in electrical systems, PLC controls, automation, and troubleshooting of complex manufacturing equipment. This individual must be a strong leader capable of driving performance, fostering accountability, and effectively managing within a unionized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily electrical maintenance activities within a steel manufacturing facility to support safe and efficient plant operations.
- Lead and develop union electrical maintenance teams, ensuring productivity, safety compliance, quality workmanship, and effective communication across shifts.
- Troubleshoot and maintain complex electrical systems, including motors, drives, PLCs, automation controls, instrumentation, and production equipment.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and maintenance leadership to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with capital projects, equipment upgrades, automation improvements, and system optimization efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all plant safety procedures, electrical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate maintenance scheduling, work assignments, contractor support, and emergency repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, work orders, and equipment history records.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience within steel manufacturing or heavy industrial production environments is required.
- Hands-on expertise with industrial electrical systems, PLC controls, automation systems, drives, and troubleshooting.
- Experience leading maintenance personnel within a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance practices, root cause analysis, and equipment reliability principles.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to drive team performance and accountability.
- Technical degree, electrical certification, or related industrial maintenance training preferred.
