Overview:
United Employment is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a well-established, privately held organization within the metals recycling and industrial processing sector.
We are seeking an experienced Controller to provide financial leadership and oversee accounting operations for a growing, multi-location business. This individual will play a key role in financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, and supporting operational leaders with timely financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting analyses.
- Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliation processes, and financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage treasury-related activities, cash management functions, and financial risk controls.
- Coordinate annual financial statement audits and support tax reporting requirements.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support business planning and decision-making.
- Partner with operational leadership to provide financial guidance and performance reporting.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and administrative team members.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting capabilities, and overall financial performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ Years metals recycling industry progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
- CPA designation required.
- Strong background in financial reporting, general ledger management, and internal controls.
- Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and multi-location operations.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively with operational stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
