Overview:
A well-established and growing Non-Ferrous Recycler in the Southeast seeks an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and strengthen daily operations. This is a key leadership role for a hands-on manager who can drive accountability, improve efficiencies, and support the company’s continued growth in the non-ferrous market.
This individual will oversee a small but critical operations team and play a vital role in managing shipping, receiving, inventory flow, quality control, and overall operational execution. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of the demands of the non-ferrous recycling and wholesale markets.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee daily operations for a team of 5+ employees
- Lead all inbound and outbound shipping & receiving functions, ensuring timely and accurate material movement
- Maintain strict quality control standards across all inbound and outbound non-ferrous material streams
- Oversee inventory management, reconciliation, and organization of processed and brokered materials
- Hold employees accountable to productivity, quality, and operational standards
- Coordinate with commercial teams, suppliers, and consumers to ensure customer expectations are met
- Adapt operational priorities based on changing market conditions, consumer specifications, and shipping schedules
- Support warehouse organization, material flow, and load preparation for domestic and export shipments
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment and operational bottlenecks as needed
- Ensure safety, cleanliness, and operational compliance across the facility
Requirements:
- 5+ years metals recycling leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of non-ferrous grading, specifications, and consumer requirements
- Experience managing shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse operations
- Proven ability to hold teams accountable and drive performance
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and adaptability in a fast-moving commodity environment
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to identify and troubleshoot operational issues
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced industrial environment
