Overview:
A construction materials producer is seeking an experienced Senior Sales Representative to drive sales and develop new business within an assigned territory. This position is responsible for managing existing customer relationships while identifying new opportunities within the construction, infrastructure, and commercial development markets.
The ideal candidate will have experience selling construction materials and possess a strong understanding of the local construction industry, including contractors, developers, government agencies, and material consumers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a territory sales plan to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, developers, municipalities, engineering firms, and other key customers.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and close sales opportunities.
- Coordinate with operations, dispatch, and customer service to ensure timely product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and upcoming construction projects.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly while maintaining long-term business relationships.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and CRM records.
- Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, industry events, and trade associations.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of outside sales experience, preferably within construction aggregates, ready mix concrete, asphalt, construction materials, or related industries.
- Knowledge of the local construction market within the assigned territory is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to develop new business while growing existing accounts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
