Overview:
A leading metals recycling and resource recovery company is seeking an experienced Non-Ferrous Recovery Manager to oversee the daily operations of a high-volume downstream processing facility. This is an outstanding opportunity for an operations leader with experience in metals recycling, material recovery, or heavy industrial manufacturing who enjoys driving production, developing teams, and improving operational performance.
The NF Recovery Manager will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 20 employees, including two direct-report supervisors, while ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable plant operations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in production management, equipment reliability, quality control, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily operations of a high-volume materials recovery and processing facility.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 20 employees, including two direct-report supervisors.
- Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the operation.
- Monitor production performance, equipment utilization, recovery rates, and product quality to achieve operational objectives.
- Coordinate with maintenance to prioritize repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability initiatives.
- Ensure processed materials consistently meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Partner with commercial, logistics, and operations teams to support production schedules and customer commitments.
- Monitor operating costs, labor productivity, and plant performance while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Manage inventory accuracy, production reporting, and operational KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of leadership experience in metals recycling, materials recovery, manufacturing, aggregates, mining, or another heavy industrial environment.
- Proven experience managing production teams in a fast-paced processing operation.
- Strong understanding of material recovery, quality control, production planning, and equipment utilization.
- Experience leading supervisors and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven operational decisions.
- Working knowledge of maintenance planning and equipment reliability principles.
- Preferred Experience
- Experience with downstream metals recovery systems, non-ferrous processing, or advanced material separation technologies.
- Knowledge of conveyors, screening systems, magnets, eddy current separators, optical sorting, or other automated recovery equipment.
- Experience managing production metrics, recovery yields, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies is a plus.
