Overview:
A well-established and highly respected metals organization is seeking a Senior Non-Ferrous Trader to join its commercial team. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced trader with a strong background in aluminum and a proven ability to grow profitable trading relationships.
The ideal candidate is commercially driven, entrepreneurial, and thrives in fast-moving markets. This individual will play a key role in expanding supplier and customer relationships, identifying new market opportunities, and driving profitable growth across domestic and international markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Buy and sell non-ferrous metals with an emphasis on aluminum.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of suppliers and customers while driving volume, margin, and long-term account growth.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and execute profitable transactions.
- Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and supply-demand dynamics to support strategic trading decisions.
- Utilize risk management strategies, including hedging and other commercial pricing tools.
- Partner with operations, logistics, and commercial teams to optimize material flow and customer service.
- Maintain a strong understanding of global commodity markets and industry trends.
- Represent the organization within the metals recycling and non-ferrous trading community.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of non-ferrous metals trading experience, with aluminum experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success growing revenue, volume, and profitability.
- Established network of suppliers, consumers, brokers, and industry contacts.
- Experience managing pricing risk and utilizing commercial trading strategies.
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and business development skills.
- Analytical, results-oriented, and comfortable making decisions in dynamic market conditions.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
