Overview:
Large aggregate producer in the Midwest, seeks an experienced Safety Manager to support sand and gravel, limestone, surface, and underground mining operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead safety programs across multiple aggregate operations.
- Ensure compliance with MSHA and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, training, and incident investigations.
- Manage MSHA Part 46 and Part 48 training requirements.
- Work closely with operations leadership to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Support underground safety programs, including ground control, ventilation, mobile equipment, and emergency response.
- Promote a strong, accountable safety culture throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
- Five or more years of safety experience in aggregates or mining.
- Experience with sand and gravel and limestone operations.
- Underground mining experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations and inspection procedures.
- Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel regularly between operating locations.
