Overview:
A construction company is seeking an experienced Highway & Bridge Estimator. This role prepares accurate, competitive bids for highway, bridge, dam, and utility infrastructure projects while working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Develop scopes of work, perform quantity takeoffs, and prepare bid tabulations.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals.
- Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Build professional relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Applicable estimating and field experience in heavy civil construction.
- Experience with DOT projects.
- Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, AGTEK or similar takeoff software, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, computer, and organizational skills.
- Dam project experience preferred.
