Overview:
A metals recycling company in the Southeast is seeking a reliable and motivated Non-Ferrous Supervisor to oversee daily non-ferrous production and yard operations. This hands-on role will lead the team, coordinate material sorting and processing, maintain accurate inventory, and keep production moving safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily non-ferrous production, including receiving, sorting, grading, processing, and shipping.
- Assign daily tasks and coordinate staffing, equipment, and material flow to meet production goals.
- Monitor throughput, identify bottlenecks, and improve processing efficiency and material recovery.
- Ensure materials are properly sorted and processed to meet quality standards and shipping specifications.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and enter material weights, production activity, and shipments into the ERP system.
- Operate forklifts, skid steers, material handlers, and other processing equipment as needed.
- Coordinate loading and unloading to support efficient receiving and shipping.
- Train and coach employees on safe equipment operation, material identification, and processing procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized yard, enforce safety policies, and promptly report hazards or equipment concerns.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of metals recycling industry experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of non-ferrous scrap materials, grades, sorting, and processing methods.
- Proven ability to lead a team and coordinate daily production in a hands-on yard environment.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, skid steers, and other material-handling equipment.
- Experience with inventory control and accurate data entry into ERP systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to work alongside the team.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
