Overview:
A commercial paving contractor is seeking a Field Construction Manager to oversee on-site paving and pavement repair projects. This role coordinates subcontractors and field operations, ensuring work meets safety, quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct site surveys, assess pavement and drainage conditions, and perform material and soil testing as needed.
- Oversee daily construction activities from project start through completion.
- Monitor workmanship and compliance with project specifications, addressing issues before they become punch list items.
- Lead pre-construction meetings and coordinate daily schedules with customers to minimize disruption to their operations.
- Enforce jobsite safety requirements and maintain daily reports, photos, and project records.
- Communicate regularly with project managers, subcontractors, engineers, and clients.
Pavement construction knowledge and experience is required. Candidates should bring strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, along with proficiency using mobile devices and learning project management software. Travel and full-day jobsite coverage are essential.
