Overview:
Growing metal recycling company seeks an experienced General Manager to lead and oversee the operations and staff of the Shredder Facility. This role requires a dynamic individual with extensive experience in metal recycling operations, a strong understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous processing, shredders, balers, shears, and heavy mobile equipment, as well as proficiency in managing profit and loss.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Shredder Facility, ensuring efficient and safe processes.
- Manage and lead a diverse team, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and employee development.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize productivity and maximize profitability.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and enhance overall business performance.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, with a focus on achieving revenue and profit targets.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and teamwork within the facility.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to support business growth and expansion.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain competitiveness.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in metal recycling operations, with a proven track record of leadership and success.
- Strong knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous processing, shredders, balers, shears, and heavy mobile equipment.
- Experience managing profit and loss, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in a relevant field such as engineering, business administration, or operations management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make strategic decisions and solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
