Overview:
General Manager ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines.
Responsibilities:
- Safety management – including liaison with MSHA.
- Collaborate with EHS Manager to develop and maintain site safety standards for employees and contractors.
- Manages policy deployment in the areas of quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.
- Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
- Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
- Manages material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.
- Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
- Provides leadership through a 3-6 month planning cycle.
- Determines operations headcount needs and ensures compliance with company policies.
- Balances work cell capacity/loading across the plant.
- Ensures compliance with company needs for capital investments and improvement projects.
- Manages compliance with state and federal regulations (MSHA, DEC and OSHA).
Requirements:
- Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check is required
- MSHA and OSHA training preferred
- Ability to oversee ambitious five year plan.
- Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Employee training and development.
- Technical skills in materials and inventory management, production scheduling, and preventive maintenance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
