Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Area Manager to oversee pavement preservation field operations across Arizona. This leadership role is responsible for managing 4–5 field crews (totaling approximately 50 personnel) and ensuring successful execution of projects generating over $45 million in annual revenue. The Area Manager will be accountable for safety, quality, efficiency, scheduling, workforce development, and client satisfaction across all assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Directly manage daily operations of multiple pavement preservation crews, ensuring all projects are delivered safely, on time, and on budget.
- Project Oversight: Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of projects across the region, including chip seal, slurry seal, crack sealing, micro surfacing, fog sealing, and other treatments.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of foremen, operators, and laborers. Foster a strong safety culture and performance-driven mindset.
- Client Relations: Act as primary point of contact for agency clients, municipalities, and subcontractors. Ensure strong communication and resolution of issues in the field.
- Revenue Accountability: Manage and monitor revenue performance across all assigned projects, with responsibility for $45M+ in annual revenue.
- Resource Planning: Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment to optimize field productivity and project efficiency.
- Compliance & Quality: Ensure adherence to company standards, DOT specifications, and safety regulations.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project status, workforce performance, and revenue tracking.
Qualifications:
- 7–10+ years of progressive field operations experience in pavement preservation or heavy civil construction.
- Proven leadership experience managing multiple crews and large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of pavement preservation treatments and application methods.
- Experience overseeing $20M+ in project revenue preferred; $45M+ is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with project management tools and systems (e.g., HCSS, Viewpoint, or equivalent).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel across Arizona as needed.
