Overview:
Heavy Highway Construction Company is seeking a Aggregate Operations Manager to direct and coordinate activities related to production and delivery of aggregate products.
Responsibilities:
- Support all safety initiatives and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
- Follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
- Ensure that all processes and equipment meet or exceed applicable OSHA, MSHA and safety guidelines
- Develop a professional approach to operations management, including professional and ethical conduct
- Lead monthly operational employee meetings to review safety, business performance, company initiatives, standard processes, employee recognition, etc.
- Coordinate with HR to select, hire, train and handle performance issues, while focusing on continual development of team members
- Responsible for coordinating performance reviews and making merit and bonus recommendations
- Develops strong customer relationships and uses continuous feedback to improve products and services
- Develop an operational strategy for the market area
- Optimize fixed and mobile equipment utilization and plant personnel, while ensuring customer satisfaction through excellence in quality, production and delivery
- Track progress against action plans and critical metrics
- Investigate variances and ensure corrective actions are established and implemented
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or similar field preferred
- 5+ years prior experience in aggregate production operations with related knowledge of civil construction
- 3+ years prior experience leading and developing people
- Knowledge of applicable rules and regulations governed by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
- Proven financial and business knowledge
- Aggregate materials product and production knowledge
- Ability to problem-solve while encouraging collaboration, conversation, and trust of their peers
- Ability to manage time efficiently
- Proficient digital literacy, including use of MS Office products
