Overview:
Aggregate Producer is seeking a Pit Foreman to assist the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent with managing all quarry operations.
Responsibilities:
- Train personnel in the proper and safe operation of their equipment.
- Leads daily discussions, near miss reviews and safety meetings.
- Oversee all safety, environmental and quality control aspects of the pit operations.
- Review all operator equipment reports.
- Perform a twice daily check on all stationary primary crushing equipment.
- Plan and execute equipment maintenance activities.
- Plan and execute pit pump operation and maintenance.
- Oversee and participate in the drilling and blasting processes.
- Track and report equipment availability and downtime.
- Record work hours for employees assigned to his crew.
- Order spare parts and monitor spare parts inventory for the primary crushing and screening equipment.
- Write maintenance reports on any major repairs to this equipment.
- Evaluate, discipline, counsel and develop the people assigned to the pit crew.
- Solve and document personnel problems in a calm and effective manner that minimizes any disruption to production.
Requirements:
- A minimum of (5) five years of mining experience and/or working in a Lead Man position.
- High School Diploma or GED is required, two or four year degree is preferred.
- Familiarity with: Typical primary plant production equipment and maintenance, primary crushing and screening techniques.
- Task trained on the pit loader, haul truck, excavator, and man lift.
- Drilling and blasting experience required.
