Overview:
Experienced Production Manager to lead operations at an aggregates quarry.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and enforce a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with MSHA regulations and company policies.
- Assist with plant construction, commissioning, and operational start-up activities.
- Develop and execute production plans designed to achieve phased growth targets of up to 4 million tons per year (TPY).
- Oversee daily production operations to meet throughput, quality, and cost objectives.
- Plan, coordinate, and optimize maintenance schedules for both fixed plant assets and mobile equipment to minimize downtime and maximize reliability.
- Lead, train, mentor, and develop production and maintenance personnel as the operation continues to expand.
- Monitor key plant performance indicators and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Coordinate drilling, blasting, crushing, screening, and load-out activities to maintain consistent material flow throughout the operation.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of safety incidents, production metrics, and maintenance activities.
- Partner with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and capital improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with environmental regulations and uphold company operating standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in aggregate, mining, or quarry operations.
- Experience with plant start-up, expansion, or greenfield projects strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage or scale high-volume production operations.
- Strong working knowledge of MSHA regulations and safety programs.
- Experience with crushing plants, conveyors, screening systems, and heavy equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage maintenance planning and coordinate with maintenance teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with production tracking and maintenance management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Background in cost control, budgeting, and capital project coordination.
