Overview:
Ready Mix & Aggregate Company is seeking a VP of Operations to be responsible for the overall management of 2 sand and gravel operations, crushed recycled products and Ready Mix Concrete.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team to work injury free in a behavior-based safety process.
- Develop strategies and implementation priorities aligned with rapidly evolving business requirements and integrate them into a high-performance, but cost-efficient infrastructure.
- Design, implement and maintain an effective, efficient organizational structure to successfully support current and future business strategies.
- Plan, develop and implement strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for the supported businesses.
- Lead change management activities and provide strong leadership to the localization teams by encouraging diversity of thought, focusing on employee development and performance and ensuring teams continually acquire new technology and management skills.
- Participate and contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance in co-optation with senior management.
- Identify acquisition and merger opportunities and provide project management of internal and external resources to grow our organization’s footprint.
- Implement and help to improve company operational procedures, policies and standards.
- Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions.
- Responsible for annual budgets and operating metrics.
- Evaluate performance of management staff for compliance with established policies and objectives.
- Coach and challenge staff to develop the “bench strength” of future organizational leaders.
- Participate in mentoring of new management employees.
- Represent the company at state level legislative sessions, committee meetings and at formal functions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations/permits and Group guidelines in area of responsibility.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or relevant discipline preferred.
- Experience working in Concrete and Aggregate related fields.
- Experience building Financial & Capital packages for annual budgetary process.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members building a safe, transparent, respectful, open environment.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Command Alkon and Dynamics
- At least 10-15 years of construction industry experience.
- At least 5 years of P&L accountability.
- Extensive knowledge of the Aggregates, Ready Mix, and Asphalt business, customers, competitors, products and manufacturing processes.
- Manufacturing and commercial experience.
- Experience with digitalization and sustainability practices within the construction materials industry.
- Strong track record of accomplishments within the areas of safety & health, employee development, change management and team leadership.
