Overview:
Full-service Construction company is seeking an Estimator – Highway & Bridge Division. This person would be responsible for securing bids, reviewing plans / specifications and building professional relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Develop scope of work and prepare bid sheets
- Prepare accurate take offs
- Perform site visits and attend Prebid meetings
- Prepare detailed estimates and proposals
- Communicate with owners, engineers and vendors
- Obtain competitive pricing for material suppliers and subcontractors
Requirements:
- Strong computer skills
- Proficient written / verbal communication
- Experience with DOT projects
- Dam project experience preferred
- Experience with HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, AGTEK or similar take-off software and Microsoft Office
- Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience
