Overview:
Construction Company seeks a Divisional Controller to managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting for the Asphalt and Paving/Underground Contracts Divisions. This position is under the direction of the CFO.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate short and long-term budgets/projections, tracking performance and analyze variances
- Serve as a key member of the division management team providing accounting and financial support and advice while helping drive profitability and growth
- Identify, assess and quantify business risks and opportunities
- Coordinate and prepare annual detailed budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to key members of leadership team
- Assist CFO with development of forecasts/reforecasts to provide an accurate projection of financial performance
- Maintain financial statement models used to report financial performance and debt covenant compliance to lenders
- Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on operational performance, inventory metrics and product costing
- Evaluate optimum utilization and financial performance of assets
- Develop and monitor business performance metrics/KPI’s
- General Ledger and Job Cost sub-ledger maintenance by adding new General Ledger and Phase Codes as needed
- Perform Month-End/Year-End Journal Entries; Inventory production and usage, Inventory reconciliation entries
- Perform monthly Work in Progress percentage completion calculation in accordance with the monthly Job Cost review process
- Inventory Management; create and maintain mix designs in coordination with QC department, develop standard costs and pricing levels, evaluate inventory adjustments and turns
- Review and assess adequacy of accruals
- Work with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit
- Monitor internal controls within division and implement improvements as necessary
- Seeks opportunities to revise or create new policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the account group
Requirements:
- Must Have Solid Communication, Technology and Analytical Skills
- HS, Diploma with 5 Years Accounting Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Related Field Preferred
- Experience with High Growth Construction/Manufacturing
- CPA a Plus
- Knowledge of Viewpoint a Plus
