Overview:
As a Group Leader in Asphalt Chemistry for Pavement Preservation Products, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and overseeing a team of laboratory employees, including chemists and engineers. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around leading research and development initiatives and conducting testing within the laboratory environment to innovate and improve pavement preservation products.

- Leadership and Team Management:
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to a team of chemists and engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring the efficient utilization of resources and expertise within the team.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for skill development and growth.
- Research and Development:
- Lead the design and execution of research projects focused on asphalt chemistry and pavement preservation products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new formulations, additives, and techniques to enhance pavement durability and longevity.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements to inform research strategies and product development initiatives.
- Laboratory Testing and Analysis:
- Oversee laboratory experiments and testing protocols to evaluate the performance and characteristics of asphalt materials and preservation products.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and draw meaningful conclusions to guide product optimization and refinement.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in all laboratory activities.
- Project Management:
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet objectives and deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and industry partners to facilitate collaborative research efforts and technology transfer initiatives.
- Communicate project progress, findings, and recommendations through comprehensive reports, presentations, and technical documentation.

Requirements:
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in asphalt chemistry, pavement materials, or related research areas.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of successfully managing teams and driving research projects to completion.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, experimental design, and data analysis methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in pavement preservation and materials science.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools for data analysis, project management, and technical documentation.
