Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Sales Manager to lead business development and customer engagement for our pavement preservation product lines. This role focuses on promoting our proprietary asphalt emulsions, sealants, rejuvenators, and surface treatment systems to public agencies, paving contractors, distributors, and engineering consultants. The ideal candidate has both a technical understanding of pavement materials and a proven ability to drive sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and grow sales across a defined territory by identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities.
- Promote pavement preservation products (e.g., asphalt emulsions, rejuvenators, slurry systems, seal coats) through technical presentations, field demonstrations, and consultative selling.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with public agencies (DOTs, municipalities), contractors, and pavement engineers.
- Work closely with operations and R&D to ensure product performance and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal teams to respond to RFQs, create technical proposals, and prepare bid packages.
- Educate clients on proper product application methods, specifications, and best practices.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and association meetings to expand market presence.
- Track sales activities and manage pipeline through CRM tools; report on territory performance and forecasts.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, competitor offerings, and pavement preservation technologies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field – or equivalent technical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in B2B technical sales, ideally in construction materials or pavement preservation.
- Solid knowledge of pavement preservation strategies and treatment types.
- Experience working with government agencies, DOTs, and/or paving contractors.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Comfortable traveling frequently within territory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and virtual meeting tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Existing network within the road construction or pavement preservation industry.
- Experience working for or with asphalt emulsion plants, distributors, or specialty pavement product manufacturers.
- Familiarity with public works procurement and bid processes.
