Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Terminal Manager to oversee daily operations at our modified asphalt production facility. This role is responsible for managing the safe and efficient production of asphalt emulsions, coordinating railcar offloading operations, blending oils and additives, and ensuring accurate inventory control. The Terminal Manager will also lead, train, and develop plant personnel while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily terminal operations related to modified asphalt production and asphalt emulsions.
- Manage the offloading of railcars and tanker deliveries, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Supervise blending operations, including oils, polymers, and additives used in asphalt modification.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
- Lead and develop plant personnel by training, coaching, and enforcing safe operating procedures.
- Coordinate production schedules to meet customer demand while maximizing plant efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and operational regulations.
- Maintain terminal equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance with maintenance teams.
- Implement and monitor quality control processes for modified asphalt products.
- Collaborate with logistics, sales, and operations teams to support customer delivery schedules.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in asphalt production, terminal operations, or petroleum/chemical processing.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt emulsions, oil blending, and terminal operations.
- Experience managing railcar offloading and bulk liquid handling systems.
- Proven leadership experience supervising plant or terminal personnel.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures, regulatory compliance, and environmental standards.
- Excellent organizational and inventory management skills.
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with modified asphalt or polymer-modified asphalt products.
- Background in petroleum, construction materials, or chemical manufacturing.
- Familiarity with terminal automation systems and inventory management software.
Work Environment:
- Industrial terminal and plant environment with exposure to heavy equipment, tanks, pumps, and rail operations.
- Requires adherence to strict safety procedures and use of required PPE.
Leadership Expectations:
- The Terminal Manager will serve as the operational leader of the facility, responsible for promoting a culture of safety, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while ensuring reliable production and distribution of modified asphalt products.
