Overview:
The VP of Research and Development is responsible for developing new products and technologies for the company and providing project-related technical guidance to Executives.
Responsibilities:
- Create the operating plan and develops strategic objectives that support the company’s goals and development strategies.
- Understand the market & recognize opportunities for new products and present to Executives for consideration and development.
- Implement the ideas and the necessary research and development to support the development of new products.
- Lead engineering and production for the commercialization of new products and support for existing business lines.
- Directs all major functions and activities within the research area and generate new products and technology safety and efficiently.
- Capable of representing the company in all related technical matters of high significance.
- Responsible for the introduction of new technology enhancement into the research area.
- Build a team with capabilities of amplifying the technical abilities of the company and ensuring a firm line of progression for the members.
Requirements:
- Advance degree (Masters or PhD is preferred but not required as experience is a viable alternative)
- Extensive industry or specialty knowledge is required.
- Ability to recognize new product opportunities and develop them to commercial products.
- Experience in process manufacturing with knowledge of converting operations, web handling, mixing, and formulations.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers to present and champion various products and technologies.
- Must work well in a team environment sharing and collaborating freely with cohorts to affect technology development.
- Must understand that working safely is a necessity for successful product and technology development.
- Must behave in an ethical and judicious manner enhancing the company’s reputation.
