Overview:
The Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business, managing customer relationships, and achieving sales goals related to revenue, volume, and profitability. This role conducts market research, monitors industry trends, prepares and tracks quotes, manages sales activity, and collaborates with internal teams to ensure customer needs and operational capabilities are aligned. The position also supports strategic business growth through account management, forecasting, customer visits, and regular travel.
Requirements:
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support satisfaction and business growth.
- Analyze sales, market, and customer data to identify trends and new opportunities.
- Research markets and develop strategies to increase sales and profitability.
- Prepare quotes and negotiate pricing to secure new business.
- Monitor customer demand and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
- Identify opportunities to expand sales in existing and new markets.
- Resolve customer concerns while balancing operational needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams to achieve business objectives.
- Represent the company in a professional and respectful manner.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Maintain clear communication between all vested parties.
- Evaluates the consideration of product dispatch/delivery via third-party haulers.
- Track sales activity and pricing to identify opportunities and potential issues.
- Assists Commercial Manager & Customer Service & Logistics Supervisor as needed.
Requirements:
- Fluent in MS Office applications, especially MS Excel
- Ability to learn internal & external systems (e.g. Apex, dispatching software, Dodge, etc.)
- S. Degree (Technical preferred)
- 7+ Years Sales Experience
- Industry or related industry (including other commodity sales) experience required
