Overview:
Asphalt Company is seeking a Division Controller to be responsible for managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for accurate accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess and quantify business risks and opportunities.
- Coordinate and prepare annual detailed budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to key members of the leadership team.
- Assist VP of Finance with the development of forecasts/forecasts to provide an accurate projection of financial performance.
- Maintain financial statement models used to report financial performance and analyze results.
- Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on operational performance, inventory metrics and product costing.
- Evaluate optimum utilization and financial performance of assets.
- Monitor and evaluate business performance metrics/KPIs.
- Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure company performance.
- General Ledger and Job Cost sub-ledger maintenance as needed.
- Perform Month-End/Year-End Journal Entries, Inventory production and usage and Inventory reconciliation entries.
- Perform monthly Work in Progress percentage completion calculations in accordance with the monthly Job Cost review process.
- Maintain mix designs in coordination with the QC department, develop standard costs and proposed pricing levels.
- Review and assess the adequacy of accruals; adjust as necessary.
- Work with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
- Monitor internal controls within the division and implement improvements as necessary.
- Seeks opportunities to revise or create new policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the account group.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience required
- Experience with high growth Construction/Manufacturing and Job Cost Accounting
- CPA a plus
- Knowledge of Viewpoint is a plus
