Overview:
Preparation and bidding of various types of projects in the private and public markets.
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of earthwork, asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, storm water, utilities, culverts, retaining walls and bridges sufficient to oversee and bid heavy-highway and site work projects.
- Additional job responsibilities include cost engineering and project coordination of subcontracts, purchase orders, change order pricing.
- Analyzes financial reports for comparison to estimate budgets to actual performance, for adjustments to estimating and/or field operations.
- Outstanding leadership skills and coaching.
- Strategically manages Estimating to achieve revenue and profit budgets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Civil Technology, or Building Construction.
- Minimum of ten to fifteen years heavy/highway and or civil site-work experience.
- Computer estimating knowledge and experience (HCSS experience preferred).
- Design/Build proposal preparation a plus. Estimating and field experience preferred.
- The ideal candidate would be an individual who has work experience on heavy/highway projects as a project/office engineer or superintendent and has worked in estimating the same type projects.
- Valuable work experience would include the responsibility of working with field personnel, pricing change orders, dealing with owner representatives, subcontractor coordination, and estimating/bidding projects.
