Overview:
Asphalt Company is seeking a Vice President of Operations who has P&L accountability for operations within the company, ultimately accountable for the company’s overall operational performance and the value of its employee owners.
Responsibilities:
- Key performance indicators include safety, P&L, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, process efficiency / quality, organization growth
- Oversee all operational departments and functions, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration within operations
- Define operational goals, objectives and performance indicators
- Monitor key performance indicators to identify trends, areas for improvement and address issues in real time
- Own the business deal, project strategy and margin plan
- Negotiate and manage owner contracts
- Manage and optimize the allocation of resources, including personnel, technology and equipment
- Monitor labor cost and productivity and ensure appropriate staffing levels to support operational needs
- Acquire and build partnerships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, industry networks
- Develop short term and long-term plans for operations that are aligned with overall business objectives and provide clear direction for the operations team
- Develop our commitment to safety to ensure zero recordables
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Identify best practices and performance gaps and implement corrective actions to enhance overall operational effectiveness and customer experience
- Break down silos and build connections and alignment between office and field staff ensuring that all employees feel connected to the organization and understand priorities and expectations
- Attract, manage, develop and retain top talent.
- Build a high performing operations organization with the capabilities and resources needed to achieve business objectives.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience
- Proven track record of managing operations teams successfully
- Able to identify areas for process improvement, streamline processes, and drive operational efficiency, quality and safety
- Collaborative versus authoritarian leadership approach
- Excellent problem-solving and change management skills
- Solid understanding of financial and business principles and practices
- Significant experience in alternative delivery market is essential and an understanding preservation would be preferred
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to encourage open communication with staff on all levels
- Bilingual in Spanish & English would be preferred
