A fast-growing recycling group in the Southeast is seeking a motivated Account Executive to help expand its commercial and industrial customer base. This role focuses on building relationships with local businesses, sourcing new scrap metal accounts, and increasing inbound material volume across multiple yard locations. The ideal candidate is outgoing, highly organized, and experienced in the metals, recycling, transportation, or industrial services sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, target, and secure new industrial and commercial scrap supplier accounts throughout the region.
- Develop strong relationships with fabricators, contractors, manufacturers, and other scrap-producing businesses.
- Conduct on-site visits to assess material types, volumes, equipment needs, and service requirements.
- Create customized recycling solutions, including roll-off scheduling, pricing structures, and service plans.
- Track market trends, metal prices, and competitor activity to support confident purchasing decisions.
- Work closely with operations to ensure timely pickups, customer satisfaction, and safe material handling.
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and service agreements for prospective accounts.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and consistently update the sales pipeline.
- Represent the company professionally at industry events, associations, and community engagements.
Requirements:
- 5+ years metals recycling industry scrap metal buyer experience required.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Prove ability to work independently and manage territory planning effectively.
- Comfortable visiting job sites, machine shops, yards, and industrial facilities.
- Solid understanding of basic metal categories (ferrous and non-ferrous) or willingness to learn quickly.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel over multiple states in the Southeast.
