Position Overview:
Metals Recycling company seeks an experienced Director of Marketing for their operations in the South. The Director will be responsible for all Scrap purchasing including strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, contract negotiation, logistics, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the non-ferrous metals market, strong negotiation skills, and a proven track record of driving cost savings, operational efficiencies, and exceeding performance targets.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of non-ferrous metals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, reliability, and competitiveness
- Stay informed about market trends, pricing fluctuations, and industry developments related to non-ferrous metals. Use market insights to make informed purchasing decisions and mitigate risks
- Optimize inventory levels to meet production requirements while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts. Develop inventory forecasts and monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements within the purchasing process. Implement initiatives to reduce costs, streamline processes, and improve overall procurement performance
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies related to purchasing and inventory management. Monitor and enforce compliance with ethical and sustainable sourcing practices
- Collaborate closely with other departments, including operations, sales, and finance, to ensure alignment of purchasing activities with overall business objectives.

Requirements:
- 7+ years metals recycling industry non-ferrous purchasing experience
- Deep understanding of the non-ferrous metals market, including pricing dynamics, supply chain trends, and industry best practices
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in market analysis, inventory management, and financial analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with purchasing software and ERP systems
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 25% of the time)
