Overview:
Established Metals Recycling Operation seeks an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead all equipment and facility maintenance. This role is hands-on — overseeing repairs, scheduling preventative maintenance, and keeping all processing and mobile equipment running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and work alongside maintenance crew to repair and service all plant equipment.
- Plan and perform regular maintenance on shears, balers, shredders, crushers, furnaces, and mobile equipment.
- Diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems quickly to minimize downtime.
- Schedule outside contractors for larger repairs or projects as needed.
- Maintain parts inventory and track maintenance costs.
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance work and equipment service.
- Enforce and promote safety rules; perform inspections to ensure safe operations.
- Coordinate with operations team to plan maintenance without disrupting production.
- Support environmental and safety compliance for all maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a heavy equipment, scrap, recycling, or industrial setting.
- Proven success in a maintenance leadership role.
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, welding, fabrication, and electrical systems.
- Experience repairing and maintaining processing equipment (shears, balers, crushers, furnaces).
- Ability to lead and train maintenance staff.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance logs and reports.
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work in an outdoor industrial environment.
