Overview:
Metals Recycling Company in the Southeast is seeking a reliable and motivated Non-Ferrous Supervisor to join the team. This role is responsible for buying non-ferrous scrap from retail customers, operating equipment in the yard, maintaining accurate inventory, and supporting daily yard operations as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Purchase non-ferrous scrap material with accurate grading, pricing, and documentation.
- Enter all incoming weights, materials, and transactions into the ERP system with a high degree of accuracy.
- Operate yard equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and material handlers to move, sort, and process materials safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; follow all company safety policies and immediately report hazards or equipment concerns.
- Assist with general yard duties, including loading/unloading customers, sorting scrap, and housekeeping tasks.
- Support daily operations and perform additional duties as required to ensure efficient yard workflow.
Requirements:
- 5+ years metals recycling industry experience.
- 2+ years supervisory experience.
- A combination of proven success purchasing non-ferrous materials over the scale and yard operations experience highly desired
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, skid steers, and other material-handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately enter data into ERP or point-of-sale systems.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to assist wherever needed in the yard.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
