Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager / Operations Manager to lead and oversee daily operations within the metals recycling industry. This pivotal role involves managing a diverse range of activities, including heavy equipment operation, material handling, safety compliance, and team coordination.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily plant operations, ensuring all activities adhere to safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Coordinate the operation and maintenance of heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and other heavy equipment.
- Manage material intake, sorting, processing, and shipping to optimize workflow and productivity.
- Supervise and support staff in equipment operation, sanitation, cleaning, and general maintenance tasks.
- Implement safety protocols and conduct regular training sessions to promote a safe working environment.
- Monitor operational performance metrics; analyze data to identify areas for process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies across all departments.
- Facilitate communication between teams to streamline operations and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist in inventory management, procurement processes, and equipment maintenance schedules.
- Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years metals recycling industry operations experience.
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation and maintenance leadership.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise diverse teams effectively.
- Strong Background in Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Pricing, Grading & Processing is a MUST
- Industrial Account Management Experience a PLUS
- Knowledge of safety standards relevant to industrial environments.
- Familiarity with equipment maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and management.
- Organizational skills necessary for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
