Overview:
Metals Recycler in the Southeast seeks a hands-on, results-driven Plant Manager to lead operations at the non-ferrous processing facility. This site specializes in advanced separation to produce clean, high-value copper and aluminum products for domestic and export markets.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all daily plant operations, including material intake, processing, quality control, and outbound shipments.
- Oversee the performance, safety, and maintenance of all non-ferrous material processing equipment.
- Manage, train, and motivate production teams to meet throughput, quality, and safety targets.
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules and troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime.
- Monitor material yields and recovery rates; identify process improvements to maximize revenue.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with sales and logistics to meet customer specifications and delivery timelines.
- Develop and manage plant budgets, KPIs, and operational reporting.
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in metals recycling, scrap processing, or related manufacturing.
- Proven leadership in plant or operations management.
- Strong technical knowledge of non-ferrous separation, wire chopping, and/or granulation equipment.
- Skilled in maintenance planning, process optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Safety-first mindset with experience in OSHA/EPA compliance.
- Excellent communication, team-building, and organizational skills.
