Overview:
The Shredder Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of shredding operations, including production scheduling, equipment reliability, staff development, and quality control. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for the department, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all shredding operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production.
- Lead, train, and mentor shredder staff to build a skilled and safety-focused team.
- Enforce safety standards and practices to maintain a zero-incident work environment.
- Schedule and manage preventive maintenance programs; coordinate and supervise repairs as needed.
- Monitor equipment performance and address operational issues promptly.
- Plan and coordinate daily/weekly production schedules to meet volume and quality requirements.
- Oversee quality control to ensure processed scrap meets customer and market specifications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the shredder department, collaborating with leadership and other facility teams.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in metals recycling shredder operations experience.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to train, motivate, and manage employees.
- Solid understanding of shredder operations, production flow, and quality control.
- Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
