Overview:
Leading Metals Recycling company seeks an experienced Shredder Manager to oversee the operations of the shredding facility, ensuring efficient and safe processing of metal scrap. The role will involve managing a team of operators and technicians, optimizing production processes, and maintaining equipment to meet production targets and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of shredder operators and technicians.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and training as needed.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the shredding facility, including scheduling, production planning, and resource allocation.
- Monitor equipment performance and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to address equipment breakdowns and repairs promptly.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality shredded metal scrap.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and maintain compliance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement efficiency-enhancing measures.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify trends and areas for optimization.
- Promote and enforce a safety-first culture, ensuring all employees adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct safety training sessions and facilitate safety meetings to raise awareness and prevent accidents.
- Implement environmental management practices to minimize waste generation and promote sustainability.
Requirements:
- 5+ Years Metals Recycling Industry Shredder Operations Experience
- Strong technical knowledge of shredding equipment and metal processing operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in safety regulations, environmental compliance, and quality management systems.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
