Overview:
Established Metals Recycling Company is in search of a motivated and detail-oriented Metals Trader to join the dynamic team. The ideal candidate boasts a robust knowledge of metal varieties, market trends, procurement, and sales strategies. As a Metals Trader, you’ll spearhead the sourcing, negotiation, and sale of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal from a wide-ranging supplier and customer network. This role requires a strategic mind with a sharp focus on market opportunities and a deep commitment to sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Scout, assess and initiate contact with potential suppliers to secure competitive and dependable sources of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal.
- Conduct thorough market research to remain abreast of industry trends, price fluctuations and advancements in the supply chain.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to clinch favorable deals aligned with company goals.
- Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with suppliers and customers, ensuring precise material identification and thorough settlement review.
- Collaborate closely with the logistics team to streamline the timely and cost-efficient transportation of metals.
- Oversee the entire sales process for brokered transactions.
- Mitigate buyer risk through strategic hedging arrangements.
- Maintain meticulous, up-to-date records of transactions, supplier details and market intelligence.
- Engage actively in industry conferences, and seminars to expand professional connections and deepen market insights.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years Metals Recycling Industry Trader Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Solid comprehension of metal varieties, recycling procedures and market dynamics.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant purchasing software.
- Strong analytical skills to decipher market data and make well-informed business decisions.
- Highly organized with adeptness in managing multiple projects concurrently.
