Overview:
We are a leading heavy civil construction company operating in the Mountains Region. With a strong focus on large-scale infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and utilities, we have a reputation for delivering high-quality results safely and efficiently. We are currently seeking an experienced Controller to join our team. The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital.
- Coordinate with project managers to track project costs, analyze variances, and ensure profitability.
- Manage the payroll process, including tax compliance and reporting.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes that may impact the company’s financial performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Heavy Civil Construction or Construction Materials Industry Experience Required
- CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior financial management role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing a team.
