Overview:
Aggregate and ready mix company is seeking an EHS to digest, analyze, synthesize and summarize technical regulatory, rulemaking, policies and rules, legislation and rulemaking processes information.
Responsibilities:
- Work with industry representatives to assess the potential impact of all regulatory actions on the industries and communicate this information.
- Provide strategic environmental, safety and health regulatory and educational support to members regarding state and federal acts, statutes and regulations, and on agencies’ initiatives that affect our industries.
- Encourage and work collaboratively toward statewide policies and regulations that benefit our industries in a favorable light.
- Interact with national and state groups to develop strategies for adopting consistent federal and state legislation and regulations that would be favorable to our industries.
- Educate agencies’ personnel, legislators and policymakers on our industries’ operations and the environmental, safety and health issues.
- Engage in outreach.
- Track and understand relevant legislative, agency and committee hearings and meetings.
- Proactively participate in agency committee meetings as necessary.
- Maintain regular contact with key regulators.
Requirements:
- Possess excellent verbal, written and personal communication.
- Possess the ability and desire to read, learn, understand and absorb large amounts of scientific, technical and historical information.
- Analyze and solve issues related to industry challenges with environmental, safety and health regulatory and non-regulatory issues.
- Create, compose and edit written materials and industry information, official agency response comments, communications content, and issue talking points.
- Develop conferences and webinar topics related to environmental and safety regulatory issues.
- Possess strong applicable contacts and networks.
- Possess excellent writing and analytical abilities.
- Gather, compile and analyze data and information, and generate reports.
