Overview:
Financial Controller is responsible for the financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and accurate income statement, balance sheet and cash flow analysis
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly/annual operating budgets and forecasts
- Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
- Effectively oversee all company accounting and administrative functions and activities, including AR, AP, Payroll, HR, Environmental Health and Safety and IT
- Lead, manage and hold accountable the financial and administrative staff – hire, coach, counsel, evaluate and manage performance
- Develop financial reporting packages
- Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements in regard to company financials.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Provide ongoing analysis of the company’s financial performance, communicate financial metrics to management team, and make recommendations for improvement
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a financial controller
- 5 – 10+ years of accounting and administrative experience
- 2 – 5 years supervisory experience preferred
- Degree in Accounting
- Experience working in the aggregates or construction materials industry preferred
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience creating financial statements
- Cash flow management
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Excellent accounting software and administration skills
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office software
- Knowledge and experience running Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) a plus
