Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Ready Mix Concrete General Manager to oversee operations for 5+ plants and a fleet of 40+ mixers. This role will lead plant managers, drivers, and support staff to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations. The General Manager will be responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a culture of safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight of multiple Ready Mix plants, ensuring efficient production, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage and optimize fleet operations for 40+ mixers, including maintenance, scheduling, and driver performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop plant managers and operational staff to achieve company goals and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor financial performance, control costs, and drive profitability across all operations.
- Collaborate with the sales team to support customer relationships and ensure timely service delivery.
- Implement standardized best practices in production, maintenance, and quality control.
- Develop long-term strategic plans for capacity, equipment, staffing, and growth.
- Report directly to the Vice President with regular updates on performance, opportunities, and challenges.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in the Ready Mix Concrete industry, with at least 5 years in a senior operations management role.
- Proven track record overseeing multi-plant operations and large mixer fleets.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Solid financial acumen with experience managing budgets, costs, and P&L.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, DOT compliance, and quality standards.
- Ability to manage change, implement process improvements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
