Overview:
A well-established construction materials producer is seeking a General Manager to lead its Ready Mix Division within a defined geographic market. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, financial performance, operational alignment, safety culture and long-term growth of the business.
The General Manager will drive market leadership by developing and executing market strategy, strengthening key customer and vendor relationships and ensuring alignment between commercial strategy and operational execution. This role works closely with operations leadership to position each plant effectively in its market while building and developing a strong team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide overall leadership for the Ready Mix Division within the designated market
- Develop and execute market strategy and growth initiatives
- Maintain full P&L responsibility including budgeting, forecasting and financial performance
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers, contractors and industry partners
- Partner with the Operations Manager to ensure alignment between commercial strategy and plant execution
- Lead and mentor the Market Manager and/or Sales Representatives, guiding sales efforts and customer engagement
- Promote a strong culture of safety, operational excellence and customer service
- Oversee team development, succession planning and leadership growth
- Support long-term business planning including market expansion, capital planning and facility optimization
- Ensure plants and teams are positioned to deliver consistent quality, service and value to customers
This role oversees the region’s people and facilities and plays an important role in positioning the company as a market leader in quality, service and customer relationships.
